Born Hans Ludwig Jacobsohn in Kassel in 1901, ousted from his function as local district judge in Mannheim in 1933, arrested in 1938, taken to the Dachau concentration camp, released in 1939, emigration to Great Britain via Switzerland, name change in 1943, return to Germany in 1945 while serving in British Army, work as lawyer starting in 1950, attorney for Nazi victims in many trials, died in 1973.
